For God So Loved The World

Written by: Bob Wolf

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Bob does not so love the world that he would give his one and only son. But of course no one believing in me will get eternal life. I can’t grasp the concept of letting my son die for others sin. God not only could grasp it, He did it.

God loved you and me enough to give up His own Son. Who here would lay down the life of one of their children for another. Not I. I would gladly give my own life, but not one of my kids. I now question myself if I would give up one of my children if God told me to. I would like to think I would listen and be faithful. In the Book of Genesis chapter 22 God tested Abraham by instructing him to offer up his only son Isaac as a burnt offering. Abraham listened, and in the end the Lord spaired Isaac and said to Abraham "I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me." God is the same today as He was then, so I may be asked to do the same as Abraham one day.

God made a way for all of us sinners to have eternal life by sacrificing His one and only sinless Son. He didn’t do it just for those that believe in Him, but for the World. The whole world, even those who choose to claim Satan as their god. At this point in history it’s still not too late to turn to God and ask for forgiveness. We don’t know when our number will be called and we will no longer have time to make the most important decision of our life. This is the time. We are not guaranteed another minute. He said whoever believes in Him shall not perish, you and I can be the next whoever. We can have eternal life if we confess with our mouth and belief in our heart the Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He was sent to Earth to die for us, it was our sin that drove the nails that hung Him on the cross. On the third day He was resurrected.

We believe = eternal life
