So for the next couple of days I will be posting old myspace blogs, This one was written over almost a year ago, it's one I can laugh at today, almost a year later. I didn't know at the time but this experience was nothing compared to other things I have experienced this year. This is just one of my mommy moments of this past year check back tomorrow and I will share another one with you.
Children are a blessing from the Lord!!! They are the greatest gift that God could ever give, besides salvation. Last night and this morning has been one of those times that the love of mother hood had to show through or I would have went crazy...
As many of you know I am about to deliver any day now... so it pretty difficult to even get around, bend up and down, sit, stand for long periods, or lay straight on my back without losing a breath....
- SIDE NOTE: I deleivered two days after this!!!!
Yesterday afternoon I took the kids to the El Dorado Picnic to enjoy while Bob had to work... We had alot of fun and Brady really enjoyed seeing his dad in uniform working... plus we had an added bonus... The city gives all employees free passes for the rides so Brady was able to ride a few of the kiddie rides, that we knew he would not be killed on if something went wrong (yes, we are those kind of parents, PROTECTIVE.. and I say, "what is wrong with that")
We stayed at the Picnic till about 11:00 p.m. after being there for 5 hours I was pretty much exhausted and just wanted to get home to my sweet sweet bed...
Well after being home for about 2 hours I hear Brady in his room screaming... He had gotten sick.. from well I could only assume eating to much at the Picnic or eating something that upset his stomach... Upon entering his room I could smell this awful aroma of throw-up, and yes I mean awful... I finally convinced him to get out of his bed and his throw-up and get to the bathroom, where his dad was waiting on him, and where he didn't quite make it to the toilet but instead all over the counter-top by the sink... just imagine cleaning big chunks of hamburger up.. pretty gross... So after getting his bed changed and cleaned he laid back down... I thought I could go back to bed safely... well... that was out of the question... instead about 20 mins later I hear Brady get up... instead of running to the bathroom... he ran to our bedroom... and well... the story goes on... he stands right in the door way... and yes... throws up all over our floor... so now not only does his bedroom, and the bathroom have a aroma beyond belief, so does our bedroom, where I have to sleep...
After the 2nd episode, we went ahead and gave Brady a breathing treatment, since he was pretty worked up by this time, and some Tylenol just in case he began to run a fever... I decided to stay up a while to clean up all the messes and to sanitize and deodorize the house... Finally the night is over I got to bed and fell fast asleep...
Well that was a true test of motherhood, I love kids but when it comes to cleaning throw-up I would rather only clean my own up if need be and my child's if the need arises and well lets say the need arose last night... more than once... and more than twice...
After waking up this morning I heard Brendlee in her room... I went to check on my lovely daughter and well she had a surprise for me from well lets say the opposite end... since we got home so late last night I changed her diaper and simply just laid her down in only that... well can I say "my mistake". Yes I have heard all the stories of kids being covered in poop, but I hadn't ever given to to much thought... NOW I HAVE... Upon going into her room, well lets say a different kinda aroma hit my nose... Brendlee had taken off her diaper and gotten into her diaper, poop was everywhere all over her and all over her carpet, she had well lets say, "painted with poop"....
-SIDE NOTE: Our youngest Brilynn is learning how to take off her diaper now... A year later...x
Motherhood is an amazing this... I could not imagine life without my children... from a young age all I really wanted to be deep down inside was a wife and mommy, my dream has came true, but along with my dream comes reality... The reality is children come with messes, and work... and sometimes messes in which you are the only person on the face of this earth that would ever clean up... I mean who would want to clean my Brady's throw-up or Brendlee's poop... no one that I know of...
All of this to say motherhood is hard work at times... and just about the time you think you have it all together well you don't another surprise is around the corner.... so watch out... here it comes... In those moments of surprise is when I realize how much I truly love my children... God has given us each a measure of love for our children that really only you have, as a mother each day you should thank him for giving you that love for them, so that you can take care of them in the way God intends for you too....
